I started my teaching career at York Technical College in Rock Hill. I have taught 10th grade English for 21 of my 22 years in Gaston County. I am a National Board Certified Teacher.  For the last 18 years, I have been at Highland School of Technology. This past year I took on the head coaching role of the Lady's Basketball Team and lead the team to their first Conference Title in the magnet school's history. I have a daughter in her sophomore year at WCU.

I describe my classroom as “organized chaos.” I want my students to gain confidence in their literary analysis and writing skills. My nickname at school is “Momma Weaver,” and I try to treat all my students the way I would want my daughter treated.
